About the Club

İstanbul Yorkshire Canary Club was founded in 2010 to make the Yorkshire canary better loved, to spread and encourage its breeding, to bring the birds bred here up to world standards, and to gather the people who share that aim — to introduce them to one another at shows and seminars held at home and abroad, and to let them share and improve their knowledge and their skill.

What we want is to bring everyone devoted to the Yorkshire canary under one roof, together with everything that is known and ought to be known about the breed, so that far better shows can be held. We want our shows always to be run in good spirits and friendly rivalry. What brought this social platform together is love for the Yorkshire canary; the excitement of the show should pass in the same way, in friendly competition, holding to ethical values and never forgetting that this is only a show. It must never be forgotten that if we destroy the values that bring us together, the social platforms built on those values will disappear with them.

So let us always hold to our values with respect and affection, and keep them alive. We founded this club in that spirit, and we wish it good fortune once again for the Yorkshire canary community, and a long life for the flag that will pass from hand to hand. Let us pursue this fine hobby for as long as our lives and our health allow, without ever losing our enthusiasm. Let us bring young people in among us and carry this love on through the generations.

İSTANBUL YORKSHIRE CANARY CLUB offers its respect and affection to all canary breeders and fanciers.
