Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data İstanbul Yorkshire Canary Club collects at www.iycc.com.tr, why it is processed and how it is protected. Because the site handles membership and competition records, it collects more than an ordinary brochure site would, so the detail below is deliberate.
What we collect
On membership registration: full name, email address, landline and mobile numbers, date of birth, gender, identity document type and number, city, full address and, if supplied, a profile photograph. A membership number is issued once the application is approved.
In competition records: details of the birds entered, cage numbers, judges’ assessments and placings, together with records of entry fees and cage rental payments.
Through the contact form: full name, email address, telephone number and the text of the message.
While using the site: session data when you sign in, the time of your last sign-in, and the language and theme preferences stored in cookies.
Why the data is processed
- To assess membership applications, maintain the membership record and track subscriptions
- To accept competition entries, allocate cage numbers and record assessments and results
- To send members announcements about competitions, subscriptions and club business
- To answer enquiries received through the contact form
- To keep the site secure and prevent unauthorised access
- To meet the record-keeping obligations that association law places on the club
Who the data is shared with
Personal data is never sold and is never passed on for marketing. It is shared only:
- with the hosting and email delivery providers the site depends on, and only so far as the service requires
- with public authorities where the law obliges the club to respond
Competition results and committee lists are published on the site. Those lists show the member’s name and the placing concerned; contact details, addresses and identity numbers are never published. How much of the membership list is visible on the public site is a setting, and by default names are shortened (“Bülent S.”).
How long the data is kept
Membership records are kept for as long as the membership lasts and afterwards for the retention period the law requires. Competition records are kept indefinitely so that past results remain available on the site. Contact form messages are deleted within a reasonable period once the matter is closed.
Security
Passwords are never stored as plain text; only an irreversible hash is kept. Session data is carried in a signed cookie that can be read by the server alone. Access to the management panel depends on the account’s role and requires two-step verification. The whole site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Changes to this policy
This policy is updated when necessary. Any significant change will be announced on the site.
